Create memories of a lifetime in one of the most beautiful riverside locations in outback QLD only an hour's drive from Townsville. Relax on gorgeous sandy river beaches, explore the far river reaches in your own boats and kayaks, or check out the local wildlife while taking in the scenery or dropping a line in.
WELCOME TO BIVOUAC JUNCTION
OFFICE HOURS: 8am to 6pm Daily. After-hours Caretaker mobile number is 0477 873 804.
EMERGENCY CONTACTS: The First Aiders, Fire Wardens and Emergency Services contacts and numbers are listed on the front outside wall, of the Office.
CHECK IN / OUT: Check in at the Office before 6pm. Alternative arrangements can be organised with the Caretaker, if late check in is required. Check out is 10am. No refunds are exchanged once guests have arrived on site.
SITES: Powered and unpowered sites are available at check-in. Vehicles are to be parked adjacent to your camp site.
CABINS / DONGAS: These come with the basic necessities. You will be required to supply your own pillows, bedding and towels. Please leave the cabin / donga in the same condition you received it. Cleaning equipment and detergent is supplied for your use.
VISITORS: Please advise your visitors that they must report to the office and ‘Sign-In’ first, before visiting your site.
SWIMMING POOL: Open from 8am to 8pm. Children MUST BE SUPERVISED at all times. Pets, glass, rocks and smoking is not permitted in the pool. Remove all your equipment and rubbish when leaving.
DUMP POINT: This is located beside the second amenities block, located on the right side as you drove toward the office. Please hose down dump area, after emptying waste.
RUBBISH: Place all waste materials in rubbish bags and put in the bins provided.
SMOKING: All facilities, cabins and dongas are STRICTLY NON-SMOKING.
NOISE: As a duty of care to other guests, it is advised that noise be kept to a minimum. 10pm is the allocated quiet time.
GENERATORS: Not permitted in the Park, including unpowered sites.
CAMP KITCHEN: Is free to all, for using. Ensure it is kept clean and tidy for fellow guests.
LAUNDRY: Two washing machines are available and operate on $2 / $1 coins, including two clotheslines. Located at the main amenities block.
PETS: This is a PET FRIENDLY Park. Please have your dog/s on a leash when walking them in the Park. Owners are requested to pick-up their pet litter. Pets are NOT ALLOWED in the cabins or dongas.
PARK AVIARY: Please DO NOT FEED the birds or tamper with the cages. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES put your Fingers OR Sticks inside the cages.
TRAFFIC SPEED: Speed limit is 10km/h for All vehicles and motorbikes. Please watch for children or campers walking or crossing the road.
BIKES / SCOOTERS / PEDAL KARTS: Can be ridden around the park at walking speed only. Not to be ridden in amenities, common areas or camp kitchen.
SIGNAGE: It is a duty of care that all guests adhere to the SIGNS posted around the Park.

CAMPFIRES

Require a ring of stones around the fire pit

Use only seasoned dry firewood, untreated timbers or hot coals, which must fit within the fire pit

The fire must be extinguished before retiring to bed, as well as prior to departing from the Bivouac Junction Holiday Park

To extinguish the fire, use water. DO NOT USE SAND

Things to look out for:A clear spot where there are no overhanging tree branches, and where there are minimal grass and scrub
-
Make sure the campfire is a safe distance from tents, caravans, camping equipment and especially flammables
FLOOD EVACUATION

Guests will be immediately advised of rising waters from the Burdekin River and Fanning River that cross sections on the front of the Bivouac Junction Holiday Park
-
All guests will be requested to leave the Park immediately
EMERGENCY ASSEMBLY POINT
Will be the evacuation muster point in the event of a major fire. It is located across from the pool in front of the bougainvillea bush. Park staff will alert guests to immediately move towards this area for accountability and safety.
FIRST AID KITS AND EMERGENCY CONTACTS
Is mounted and attached to the outside wall of the front Office.
